BUYER CHECK / PRICE BUBBLE + BUDGET CHECK

Understand the car.
Make sense of the deal.

From a private seller to a dealership, the right purchase starts with more than an asking price. AutoMedic connects your buyer inspection report with offer guidance and a clearer view of your budget.

  • Start with the inspection. Review the vehicle’s condition, recorded findings, known issues and maintenance needs.
  • Put the Price Bubble to work. Explore a suggested starting offer, target range and upper limit, with context for negotiation.
  • Keep room for what comes next. Account for your estimates of taxes, title/registration and a repair reserve to see what could remain in your purchase budget.

01 / WHEN SOMETHING FEELS WRONG

Warning light?
Start with the clues.

A check-engine light, rough running or a recurring symptom can leave you unsure where to start. Bring symptoms, codes and available data together to understand possible causes and what needs testing.

Why it matters Replacing parts based on a guess can mean paying for work that does not solve the problem.

Questions to ask
  • What could explain these symptoms and codes together?
  • What test would confirm the suspected fault before replacing a part?
Explore vehicle diagnostics
02 / BEFORE APPROVING A REPAIR

Know what justifies
the work.

Facing a repair recommendation you do not understand? Use your organized diagnostic findings and service history to ask what evidence supports it. Request a written breakdown of parts and labor.

Why it matters You can question work that has not been explained and decide when to seek another professional opinion.

Questions to ask
  • What test confirmed this repair is needed?
  • What parts, labor and diagnostic charges are included in the written estimate?
Prepare a clearer conversation
03 / BEFORE BUYING A USED CAR

Look beyond
the asking price.

Buying from a private seller or a car lot? Buyer Check brings inspection findings, vehicle details and diagnostic clues into the same decision as the offer, repair reserve and purchase budget.

Why it matters A price that looks affordable can leave little room for repairs. Review the condition and estimated costs before committing your money.

Questions to ask
  • Can an independent mechanic inspect the vehicle before I buy?
  • What repairs are identified, and what could they add to the total cost?
Explore Buyer Check

Costly decisions deserve better information. AutoMedic is being built to make vehicle insight affordable for everyday drivers—before an unnecessary repair or an expensive buying mistake.

Offer guidance and budget figures depend on the inspection findings and estimates available. Verify the vehicle, repair costs and fees before buying. AutoMedic does not guarantee a vehicle’s condition, final price or savings; an independent pre-purchase inspection remains important.

Recognize any of these?

From a new rattle to a car that won’t start, AutoMedic helps you narrow down possible causes and prepare for a more informed mechanic visit.

A new rattle, squeal or knock?

Describe the sound and when it happens—braking, turning or accelerating—to explore what may need a closer look.

Running hotter than usual?

Once safely stopped, bring temperature warnings, symptoms and service history together for a clearer conversation about the cooling system.

Car won’t start?

Clicking, cranking or silence? Use those clues to explore the next checks before guessing at a replacement part.

Check-engine light on?

Put codes in context with symptoms and available vehicle data, turning a confusing warning into a starting point for further testing.

Rough idle or less power?

Track when shaking, hesitation or power loss appears to give your mechanic a clearer picture of the problem.

A new leak under the car?

Note the fluid’s appearance and location to organize useful clues for inspection, instead of guessing where it came from.

Engine overheating? Pull over safely, switch it off and seek assistance. Never open a hot radiator or coolant cap. AAA guidance

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

Clear answers.
From the start.

A closer look at the AutoMedic experience.

Is AutoMedic available yet?

AutoMedic is in development. This site introduces the platform and its direction. A public launch date and release details have not been announced here.

How does AutoMedic help with vehicle diagnosis?

AutoMedic is designed to bring symptoms, diagnostic trouble codes and available vehicle data into a clearer review. Use that context to understand possible causes, organize findings and prepare the next checks. The on-page example is illustrative and does not scan your car.

What is Buyer Check?

Buyer Check helps you evaluate a used car from a private seller or a dealership. It connects vehicle details, inspection findings, photos and diagnostic clues with offer guidance and budget planning, so you can weigh the condition and financial picture together.

How does the Price Bubble help with my buying decision?

The Price Bubble, called Offer Bubble / Value in the app, presents offer guidance alongside the buyer inspection findings. Review a suggested starting offer, target range and upper or walk-away price guidance when available. Budget Check brings in your purchase budget, your estimates for taxes/title/registration and a repair reserve to show what could be left. These are estimates for a more informed decision; they do not guarantee market value, repair costs or a seller’s acceptance.

Does a diagnostic code tell me exactly what to replace?

A code is a starting point for investigation. AutoMedic is designed to help explain diagnostic information and organize the context. Inspection and testing by a qualified automotive professional may still be needed.

Can AutoMedic help me avoid unnecessary repairs?

AutoMedic helps you understand diagnostic clues and organize the evidence behind your questions. Ask what testing supports a recommendation and get a written estimate. It can support a more informed conversation, but it does not verify a mechanic’s honesty or prove that a quoted repair is unnecessary.

Why use Buyer Check before buying a used car?

The asking price is only part of the decision. Buyer Check organizes available findings so you can review repair needs and unanswered questions before committing. Combine it with an independent inspection and repair estimates; it cannot reveal every hidden problem or guarantee future costs.

Does AutoMedic include every record from a vehicle’s past?

AutoMedic organizes the vehicle information and records available to you. Missing records can remain missing; it is not a guarantee of a complete service, title or accident history.

Can I track vehicle spending for tax preparation?

Keep receipts, maintenance costs and spending organized for each vehicle, with records you can review or share with your tax preparer. Tax-preparation support means organizing the information; it does not determine deductibility or file a tax return.

Can a vehicle profile transfer to a new owner?

Yes. Transferable vehicle profiles let maintenance and service history stay connected to the car when ownership changes. The new owner can build on that vehicle record instead of starting its history from scratch.

What can I do with a report?

The reporting experience supports readable PDFs you can save, print or share. Bring recorded findings, maintenance details and vehicle spending into organized summaries for discussions about the car or for tax preparation.

Where can I find OBD compatibility details?

Supported hardware, vehicle compatibility and connection requirements will be detailed with the release information. The feature overview on this page does not establish compatibility with a particular scanner or vehicle.
